The Carambola 2 single-band Wi-Fi SoM’s industry-leading low power consumption and small, single-sided, surface-mountable form factor make it easy to embed this Wi-Fi 4 SoM into new or existing projects. Linux OpenWrt and FirmUx support make Wi-Fi 4 networking feature development more flexible.
The Carambola 3 is our pin-to-pin compatible upgrade to the Carambola 2. The Qualcomm QCA4531 SoC gives the Carambola 3 greater processing power while remaining easy and cost-efficient to integrate into existing products that already use the Carambola 2.
Carambola 2 supports FirmUx Networking, which is a proprietary embedded Linux framework that provides developers with powerful tools and integration procedures. Use it to unlock powerful network features and build your own full-featured firmware and device software. Carambola 2 also supports open source QSDK.
