UAB Commesh and their partners at UAB 8devices and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University will implement the Innovative 5G Data Transfer Modules With Video Surveillance And Data Depersonalization For Mobile Vehicles and Rail Transport project No. 08-004-K-0023. This project is being financed by the European Union (with funds from the New Generation Lithuania economic recovery and resilience plan) in accordance with its 2022-2030 development measures.
Project duration: 07/2023 – 12/2025
Project value: 4,063,211.82 EUR
EU financing: 1,933,561.57 EUR
The goal of the project is to create high-throughput wireless communication technology that supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 7 tech to enable rapid communications that meet modern consumers’ needs and a low-energy-consumption 5G video surveillance system with facial anonymization (5GVS).
The project aims to solve the problem of stable 5G video and audio transfer in dynamic environments by creating specialized hardware and software solutions. These products could then be offered for use in rail transport, car sharing platforms, and broadly geographically distributed IoT device networks and systems.
The key aspects of the project:
The goal of the project is to create innovative 5G connectivity modules that will provide high-throughput wireless connectivity and will be suitable for use in mobile vehicles and rail transport.
The 5G network grants high-speed throughput for large quantities of data and reduces latency, all of which is essential for mobile connectivity and video surveillance systems.
The project solves issues with personal data protection and video and audio transfer anonymization requirements.
The applications of innovative 5G data transfer modules with video surveillance and data anonymization is a new business opportunity. This can include solutions for law enforcement institutions, the transportation sector, logistics and other industrial sectors.
The project will also contribute to Lithuania’s digital transformation and improve its competitiveness.
The successful implementation of this project will also help make transportation infrastructure more accessible. High-throughput wireless connectivity equipment will let users access the internet wherever they are within their given transportation system, make transportation infrastructure more efficient, and let high-throughput wireless connectivity service providers provide their services more effectively. Other benefits include reduced transportation costs, improved service quality, and safer transportation infrastructure. Low-power-consumption 5G video surveillance systems with facial depersonalization will make it easier to manage and secure transportation infrastructure and will help reduce crime and the number of traffic incidents.
